How To Set Up Your Mevo Gen2
Setting up your FlightScope Mevo Gen2 correctly is quick, easy, and essential for getting accurate data. Whether you’re heading to the driving range or setting up indoors, follow this step-by-step guide to get started:
1. Log into FS Golf
Before using your Mevo Gen2, download the free FS Golf App, available on iOS, Android, and Windows PC.
When you open the app for the first time:
-
Create a FlightScope Cloud account or log in with your existing details.
-
Allow all app permissions – this ensures full functionality, including access to the device camera, local network, and storage.
Next, make sure FS Golf is configured for Mevo Gen2.
If you’re a first-time user:
You’ll automatically be taken to a screen showing all FlightScope devices compatible with FS Golf.
-
Select Mevo Gen2
-
Tap Apply
-
Restart the app to return to the home screen
If you’re an existing user:
If FS Golf is already paired with another device:
-
Go to Settings → Radar Settings → Radar Type
-
Select Mevo Gen2
Your app is now ready to pair with your radar.
2. Switch on and connect to your device
Turn on your Mevo Gen2 by holding the power button until you hear a beep. The unit will continue its startup sequence, and once you hear a double beep, the device is fully powered on and ready to connect.
In the FS Golf home screen, tap the Radar Status icon in the top-right corner (at first it will say ‘Disconnected’). You can connect in one of two ways:
Manual Wi-Fi connection
-
Open your devices Wi-Fi settings
-
Select your Mevo Gen2 from the list of networks
-
Enter the Wi-Fi password – this is the unit’s serial number (e.g. MG2-000123)
-
Re-open FS Golf, which will automatically connect to the radar
QR code connection
-
Select Scan QR Code
-
Use your camera to scan the QR code on the back of the device
-
The app will detect your radar and prompt you to connect
Both connection methods take only a few seconds.
3. Configure Radar Setup
Once you are connected to your Mevo Gen2, begin a session. This will automatically open the Radar Setup screen. You can also access it anytime via Settings → Radar Settings → Radar Setup.
Here you can adjust:
-
Distance from device to ball
-
Tee height
-
Target alignment
Device-to-ball distance
For Full Swing Sessions indoors or outdoors, place the Mevo Gen2 8 feet directly behind the ball. You can either pace this out or use a tape measure to be exact. Accurate setup matters for accurate data.
It is important to ensure your device-to-ball distance input in your radar settings (eg. 8ft) matches your setup in real life.
Target alignment
The Mevo Gen2’s internal camera makes target alignment simple:
-
Tap Target Alignment
-
The Mevo Gen2’s camera feed will appear with an on-screen graphic showing the target line and hitting area
-
Simply line up the on-screen graphic with your real hitting area
Once the on-screen alignment matches your real-world setup, you’re ready to go.
4. Adjust Tilt and Roll (if necessary)
Your Mevo Gen2 includes two setup indicators – Tilt and Roll – that help ensure optimal tracking accuracy. You’ll only be asked to adjust them if they fall outside acceptable limits.
Roll
Roll is based on how level your surface is.
-
If your mat or range area isn’t perfectly flat, you may need to adjust the radar position slightly
-
Real-time feedback lets you fine-tune the roll until the value turns green, or falls within the acceptable limits, meaning alignment is correct
Tilt
Tilt is automatically set to the correct angle when you open the kickstand.
-
Simply extend the kickstand fully
-
The Mevo Gen2 will automatically set itself to the required 12° tilt
-
Please note, if you set up your unit on a severe downslope/upslope, you may need to fine tune the tilt until the value turns green, or falls within the acceptable limits.
Once Tilt and Roll are within range, your setup is fully optimized.
You’re Ready to Go
With your Mevo Gen2 properly set up, you can start improving your game with accurate performance data you can trust. A quick and simple setup ensures you get the best results from every session.
We hope you enjoy your Mevo Gen2.
